KACHILE is a newly launched social venture in West Africa. We are dedicated to creating opportunities and raise environmental consciousness through fostering technology-enhanced entrepreneurship. The central problem that Kachile addresses is the under exploitation of entrepreneurial opportunities due to lack of capacity, capital, and access to markets. Moreover, African culture is not or only little promoted to European and American consumers. Kachile means “change” in the local language Baoulé.

OUR SOLUTION Kachile is dedicated to professionalizing the artisanal sector in West Africa and commercialize its products in Europe and the United States while guaranteeing fair pay, decent working conditions, and endowing the artists with marketable skills for their futures. Kachile will generate income through direct and online sales of artisanal products. We focus on providing access to global markets and capacity building.

E-Commerce We are setting up an e-commerce platform (www.magento.kachile.com) to commercialize the products of the numerous artisanal communities across West Africa, most of which are operating at the bottom of the pyramid. It is envisioned as the no. 1 platform for African artists and artisanal products within the next 3 years. Given the precarious situation for the local artisans in post-conflict Côte d’Ivoire, Kachile is developing a business model that seeks to promote sustainable development and economic growth and independence within these communities while highlighting the culture, traditions, and values of the region and its peoples.

OUR PRODUCTS The vibrant batiks, remarkable oil paintings, striking tableware, and the ceremonial masks we present to you are the result of decades of technical training, artistic research, and professional growth. The craftsmanship, technical skills and traditions of rite, passage and ceremony have carefully been passed down through many generations. Kachile's local craftsmen and women continue in their forefathers' traditions, yet fuse their work and talent with exciting new influences from other cultures and other spheres of art. Their work today is the result of a delightful yet complex evolution of ancient customs, rituals, beliefs, and values that make up the flourishing art scene of modern West Africa.
